Excitement fills Detroit as locals prepare for the 22nd annual Tree Lighting at Campus Martius, a key event marking the start of the holiday season. David Cowan of the Downtown Detroit Partnership highlights the collaborative effort of hundreds who work year-round to decorate the city, culminating in a display featuring over one million lights. A standout feature is the tree adorned with 125,000 lights, topped with a nine-foot star. The event draws a crowd of 115,000, with the Norway spruce set to become a holiday highlight amid the city's dramatic skyline.
