‘He was the heart of our family’: Detroit mother seeks justice 5 years after son’s hit-and-run death

In March 2020, 27-year-old Steven Radcliff was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Detroit. More than five years later, that driver still has not been found, and the victim’s family hopes someone will finally come forward.  “He took a son, he took her uncle,” Beverly Winfrey, Radcliff’s mother, said during a press conference on Wednesday (Dec. 3) afternoon. “He was the heart of our family.” Radcliff was killed as he crossed the street at Dequindre Street and East Robinwood Street in Detroit during the overnight hours of March 17, 2020 – one month before what would have been his 28th birthday.
