From the Vault: Detroit on Christmas Eve, 1977
Kinsel Drugs, Detroit's first 24-hour drug store established in 1894, was more than just a pharmacy, offering a variety of goods from deli meats to electronics. On Christmas Eve in 1977, it was a bustling hub for last-minute shoppers seeking gifts and essentials, as reported by Bob Bennett. Although the store was demolished in 2000, it remains a significant memory in the community, now replaced by the Griswold apartment building.
