Police urging families to lock up firearms ahead of the holidays

During the holiday season, many parents take their kids to visit family — grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who may not have children around often and might now store their firearms securely. In Michigan, the Child Access Prevention law requires firearms to be securely stored when children are present. Secure storage is the most effective way to prevent tragedy and keep guns out of kids’ hands. Dr. Brendan Goss Andrews — a retired Detroit Police Deputy Chief, president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement and is with Moms Demand Action — joined Local 4 Live to explain more about the importance of safe storage.
