Detroit historian works to preserve lesser-known Black history
Detroit historian Sharon Sexton is dedicated to preserving lesser-known stories of African American history, particularly those related to the Underground Railroad. Through her research, she discovered an 1800s newspaper interview with William Lambert, a key Underground Railroad agent, and a book detailing a man's escape from slavery. Despite initial publishing setbacks, Sexton is raising funds to reprint these documents, aiming to ensure their historical significance is recognized and accessible for future generations.
