More than 40 dogs found in ‘deplorable conditions’ in Detroit now looking for homes

Detroit police conducted a wellness check at a home on Liberal, uncovering 41 Yorkie-mix dogs living in deplorable conditions, along with turtles. The dogs, ranging from newborns to adults, were found in dirty crates, with some having matted hair. Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC) transferred 20 dogs to the Michigan Humane Society, while others remain under evaluation for adoption or foster care. The ongoing investigation involves several rescue organizations, with a mandatory hold in place to assess the dogs' medical and behavioral needs before they can be rehomed.
