Detroit's Corktown celebrates 68th annual St. Patrick's Parade
It was a sea of green in Corktown. The city celebrated its 68th annual St. Patrick's parade! It's one of the largest celebrations in the country with marching bands, color floats and plenty of Irish pride. The tradition started in 1958 when the United Irish Societies hosted their first parade in Dearborn. Today, more than 35 Irish organizations keep the tradition alive in a neighborhood that got its name from the thousands of immigrants who came here from County Cork, Ireland.
