Here are the most frequently stolen cars in Michigan

Are you driving one of the most commonly stolen cars in Michigan? The National Insurance Crime Bureau is out with its list for the past year.  Across the country, car thefts are down, dropping 23% in 2025. That’s the lowest level in decades. We’re seeing a similar trend in Michigan, with theft down 22%. But it does appear thieves have a favorite target here in Michigan.  The Jeep Grand Cherokee was the most stolen car in the state, with more than 1,200 thefts in 2025. Coming in second was the Dodge Durango, followed by the Ram 1500, the Chevy Malibu, and the Dodge Charger. Crime and safety expert Darnell Blackburn joined Local 4 Live to talk about what you can do to better protect yourself.
