‘Horror show’: Detroit family says credit union kept moving the goalposts on dad’s funds

Sheri Divers of Detroit has been unable to access money her late father left at Michigan First Credit Union despite being named a beneficiary alongside her elderly mother. The bank repeatedly requested additional documentation, citing concerns over her father's decades-old name change and questioned both Sheri and her mother’s identities, even after legal and funeral documents were provided.
