What judge said about Sherrone Moore’s wife in court during sentencing

Former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore was sentenced Tuesday after a judge told him the person saving him from harsher punishment was the very person he had betrayed. Moore appeared before Washtenaw County Judge Cedric Simpson on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He had previously pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges connected to an alleged inappropriate relationship with a staffer as part of a plea deal. During the hearing, the judge told him that he had taken his wife for granted, and that he didn't know where she got her strength from. Moore was sentenced to 18 months probation.
