Detroit car chase ends with driver impaled on city's west side
A car crashed through a fence and landed on top of two parked vehicles in a residential neighborhood on Detroit’s west side following an apparent law enforcement chase. The driver was impaled through the chest by a metal fence post and was rescued by firefighters, while the damaged vehicles belonged to resident Dajaun Matkins, who expressed frustration over the loss. No children were injured, though neighbors noted they often play in the area. Detroit police referred media inquiries about the incident to the Department of Homeland Security, and a heavy presence of ICE agents and police remained at the scene.
