Detroit police searching for arson suspect
Detroit police are asking the public for help identifying a man in connection with an arson case on the city’s west side. A house caught fire in the 1800 block of Eason Street on May 12 at around 10 p.m. The fire was quickly put out by firefighters, and no one was injured. Investigators gathered video of the suspect, who is seen going to the back of the home with a bag, and then running away once the fire started. Officials said the suspect is described as a man between 40 and 50 years old, 5′8″ to 6′3″ tall, with short hair, wearing a blue jacket and brown pants. Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information on the crime is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Arson Unit at (313) 596-2940. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can submit tips through Rewards TV. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect responsible for the fire.
