Heat wave pushes DTE power grid to the limit, causing power outages

This brutal heat wave is pushing DTE's power grid to the limit as AC units run nonstop. It’s already hitting home for those on Detroit’s west side. Last night, hundreds lost power. According to the outage map, it was due to “high electricity demand” and “equipment problems.”
