Michigan Hunger-Free Summer Program provides support for kids without school meals

Hunger doesn't take a summer break, and hundreds of volunteers are stepping up to make sure kids in Michigan don't go without. Local 4 joined Gleaners Community Food Bank and volunteers from Citizens Bank and Rocket Community Fund to pack food boxes as part of the Hunger-Free Summer initiative. According to Feeding America, one in five children in Michigan faces hunger that's roughly 400,000 children.
