Police shooting outside Taylor gas station
An investigation is underway outside a Taylor gas station after an attempted traffic stop for an outstanding felony warrant ended with a police shooting, leaving the driver injured. The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. at the Sheetz convenience store in the 20600 block of Eureka Road, after officers ran the plate of the suspect’s U-Haul truck and found that it was wanted in connection with an aggravated armed robbery out of Ohio. When police attempted a felony traffic stop with other assisting departments, the driver reportedly attempted to flee and rear-ended a patrol car, which was blocking the vehicle in. When officers approached the driver, they saw that he had a gun and fired in self-defense, according to Taylor Police Chief John Blair.
