Michigan DNR is auctioning off about 100 properties across the state -- here’s how to place your bid

One of the best parts of summer in Michigan is getting outside and enjoying the woods, the water, and the fresh air. You can take in the great outdoors up north, where the DNR has some property it wants to sell. They’re auctioning off nearly 100 properties across two dozen counties, and there are even some here in Metro Detroit. Some of the parcels are tiny, less than an acre, while others are as large as 120 acres. Bidding will open gradually throughout the month. Auctions in Lapeer, Allegan and Berrien counties are already open. If you want to bid, you’ll need to register before the property’s auction date. Then, you’ll have from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to place your bids.  Michael Michalek, a resource specialist with the DNR, joined Local 4 Live to talk about the land auctions.
