Canton parks: How residents can help shape the next decade

If you call Canton Township home, here is your chance to help shape what it looks like for the next decade. Canton Township is one of Michigan’s biggest communities. Nearly 100,000 people live there just west of Detroit, and the township has a lot to manage. We’re talking parks, trails, playgrounds, golf courses, a community center, a performing arts theater, and a teen center—all built to serve those residents. Now, Canton Parks, Recreation and Community Services is putting together a 10-year master plan, basically a blueprint for where the money goes and what gets built or improved down the road, and they are asking residents to weigh in. An online survey is open right now, but you only have until Aug. 13 to take it. Canton Township Supervisor Anne Marie Graham-Hudak and Canton Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Jon LaFever joined Local 4 Live to talk about what this plan means for Canton Township residents.
