Michigan State University researchers work to save tiny butterfly once common across Midwest

Researchers at Michigan State University have spent several years working to restore the Poweshiek Skipperling, a butterfly smaller than a quarter that was once common across the Midwest. As recently as 2022, the number of observed wild butterflies dropped to single digits. But now, there's hope they could soon be thriving again.
