Heavy police presence ahead of planned protest in Dearborn

An influencer organized the demonstration and called it a “Christian Crusader March.” Organizers believe as many as 50,000 people could attend, although it was not immediately clear how many would actually take part. A small crowd had been gathering since about 3 p.m., with protesters already outside the meeting site several hours before the council meeting. Michigan State Police are working with Dearborn police to monitor the demonstrations. Police are maintaining a heavy presence to keep the protests peaceful.
