Family honors father's memory with golf invitational

More than a year after Alex Habib was killed in a crash involving a teenager fleeing police, his family is honoring his memory by giving back to the community.   Habib, 28, was working as an Uber driver on July 12, 2025, when a teenager driving a stolen vehicle crashed into his car near 11 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue in Warren.    The family established the Habibiforever Foundation in Habib's honor. This weekend, the non-profit will host a golf invitational, with proceeds benefiting the Henry Ford SandCastles Grief Support Program.
