Michigan nonprofit working to fill the gap in skilled trades

Michigan needs skilled trades workers — and one local organization is helping people get there. The Michigan AFL-CIO Workforce Development Institute trains Michiganders for good-paying union jobs in the trades. Next week, the nonprofit is celebrating the people who made it happen at its fourth annual Workers Gala in Detroit — and tickets are still available.
