Free Press’ Helene St. James breaks down Steve Yzerman’s Red Wings exit

Seven years ago, Steve Yzerman was viewed as the potential person who could turn the franchise around, after all, he won three Stanley Cups in Detroit as a player. But the playoff drought is now at a decade, and Yzerman is out as the Wings' general manager. Yzerman is stepping down from his role on Wednesday, but will remain with the team as an advisor. The search for a new leader begins, with the team saying that both internal and external candidates will be considered, but whoever takes over will inherit a tough spot. It's a destination job, but there's been drama this offseason, including a trade request by Dylan Larkin. Helene St. James of the Free Press joined us for more on Yzerman's tenure in the front office.
