Video shows rolling lava lake atop Hawaii's Kilauea volcano

This is so cool that I had to show you.

A lava lake is once again visible atop Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano. The U.S. Geological Survey says that the lake has come into view as a result of a recent burst of seismic activity.  It’s the first time the lava lake has been visible since May 2015.

Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes, and a current lava flow into the Pacific Ocean has drawn thousands of visitors to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. I visited the park on my honeymoon 26 years ago and, if you ever go to Hawaii, I strongly suggest taking the quick flight to the Big Island, renting a car, and driving up to Volcanoes National Park.

Obviously, you can’t drive right up to these lava flows for safety reasons, but the park is still really cool to visit.
