Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade forecast: Chilly, but mostly dry -- come on down!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Let's get to the big question: Should you come down to Woodward Avenue for the parade?

Answer: If you don't mind a little cold, it's a great morning for a parade.

We're dealing with low clouds and drizzle through the morning hours, but we don’t expect any soaking showers. If you’re heading downtown for America’s Thanksgiving Parade, grab a rain coat for the spotty drizzle in the morning low clouds.

Temps are in the low 40s through the parade, warming into the upper 40s through the day. We will have cloudy skies all day, but will be very mild with light winds WSW 5-12 mph. Most of the spit and drizzle will be lifting or moving out between 8am and 10am. Again, don’t worry about any heavy wet weather.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Black Friday shoppers will have to deal with a few very light rain and/or snow showers midday and through the afternoon. It should be a light rain shower or two during daylight hours with temps in the low to mid 40s. But as soon as darkness falls, a few snow showers will mix in making things even more slick… be careful!

The weekend looks dry other than a few early morning shower chances Saturday. Mostly cloudy Saturday with highs in the low to mid 40s. Sunday looks nicer with more and more sunshine and highs in the upper 40s. To stay ahead of the Fall swings and changes, make sure you have the Local4Casters app and take the weather with you.
