Sunday highs in mid 80s

We’re getting some nice, calm weather for the second weekend in a row -- a nice change of pace from all the rain.

Temperatures soar Sunday as the sun shines down on the region. It will be mild with fair skies Sunday night. Another sun-filled day without rain will arrive Monday. Our next chance for rain showers will be Tuesday afternoon. It will be warm all week.

We have perfect baseball weather again Sunday afternoon. The Tigers host the Minnesota Twins beginning 1:10 p.m. at Comerica Park. Skies will be crystal clear while at the surface, temperatures will reach the mid 80s. Remember your sunglasses and sunscreen if you’re heading outdoors today.

Although humidity will be at tolerable levels Sunday, drink plenty of water and wear light and loose-fitting clothes to stay cool.

Sunday evening will be clear and warm. Temperatures will be near 80 degrees.

Sunday’s sunset is at 9:06 p.m.

Sunday night will be clear and mild. Overnight lows will be in the mid 60s.

Warm week ahead

Monday will be sunny and hotter. Temperatures will rise back above average to the mid-to-upper 80s.

There is a chance for some showers on Tuesday, but not before temperatures rise to near 90 degrees.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the low 80s.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and warm with afternoon temps back in the mid 80s.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible again on Friday. Highs will be in the mid 80s.
