Dry stretch in Metro Detroit: What temps, conditions to expect

Lots of sunshine this week

4Warn Weather – Our Tuesday begins chilly with clearing skies. Some areas start the day with wind chill readings in the teens -- and that’ll be the trend today.

Expect “feels like” temperatures to be about 10 degrees cooler than the air temperatures throughout the day as winds pick up. Highs will be in the low 40s, but will feel cooler with wind gusts that will likely peak between 20-30 mph.

Grab the sunglasses today (and the next couple of days) as sunshine builds back in. We anticipate a mix of sun and clouds on this Tuesday.

Tonight’s sunset is at 5:01 p.m.

Calmer winds, warmer temps

Winds will calm down Wednesday and Thursday before picking up again on Friday. We’ll have even clearer skies through Thursday.

We do get a little bump in temperatures by Friday, as we’ll rise close to 50 degrees.

Rain possible this weekend

As of Tuesday morning, the weekend looks to be in the mid- and upper 40s.

Some early data hints at possible showers early Saturday with the rest of the weekend looking dry, but this could certainly change before the weekend arrives.

Elsewhere ...

Nationally, lake-effect snow will develop downwind from the Great Lakes through Wednesday. A strong storm will impact Alaska with heavy precipitation and high winds.
