Today marks the seventh day straight of an Air Quality Advisory across Southeast Michigan. Pollutants are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range with some locations reaching the Unhealthy (for all) range. So with that said, we will have hazy sunshine from the Canadian wildfire smoke mixing with clouds and slightly warmer temperatures with highs in the mid-80s.
The Advisory is set to lift tonight, but there isn’t a guarantee that we won’t see it extended again.
It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory diseases like asthma. Reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution, such as: outdoor burning, use of residential wood burning devices.
Temperatures stay steady in the mid-80s through midweek. Humidity will gradually rise and by late week, highs will rise into the upper 80s to near 90. Mostly dry weather is expected through Friday with very slight and isolated rain chances. Next best chance of rain arrives early next week, In the meantime, we will have a hot and humid weekend ahead.
