Did you feel like you were melting this weekend? Well, that weather isn’t moving out quite yet.
Hot and humid conditions continue today through Tuesday with highs in the low 90s and heating indices in the mid-90s. We will see plenty of sunshine, but there is also the potential for showers and non-severe thunderstorms from mid-afternoon into the evening hours today. So think Florida-like pop-up showers in the peak heat of the day.
Showers and thunderstorms will again be possible Tuesday. These will possibly develop in the afternoon and evening and be a bit more scattered to widespread with the potential for heavy rainfall. The clouds will not be in our favor, but tomorrow night will also be the peak of the Perseids meteor shower.
Perseids Meteor Shower
What you need to know:
When: Now through Aug. 23
Peaks: Tuesday night (best viewing after midnight, but rain chances in the forecast)
Number: Up to 50-100 meteors per hour
Tip: Stay away from city lights
Looking Ahead
We can’t rule out a lingering shower chance on Wednesday with the passing of a cold front. However, a little relief is in slight as high pressure brings less humid conditions for the latter half of the week. Temperatures will still trend slightly above average in the mid-80, before near 90 degree temps return for the weekend.
