Seasonable temperatures and dry weather expected today through Friday. Clouds will hang around for a while before gradually giving way to a little sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 70s today, rising into the low 80s by Friday and Saturday.
Weekend
There is a slight chance for rain on Sunday as low pressure drags a cold front through the area dropping highs back into the 70s for the second half of the weekend.
Next Week
We get a taste of fall-like temperatures early next week as we round out the month of August. Plan for sunshine, but highs will be about ten degrees below average, in the low 70s, and overnight lows will fall into the low 50s.
Tracking the Tropics
Hurricane Erin remains a Category 2 hurricane as of this writing. Tropical storm conditions are expected over portions of the North Carolina Outer Banks beginning late today or tonight and will then be possible along the Atlantic coast of Virginia on Thursday pushing up towards the Jersey Shore by Friday.
