Here’s when and where to expect rain, storm chances Saturday in Metro Detroit

Severe weather not likely

DETROIT – There’s a chance for some showers and storms Saturday in Metro Detroit ahead of a cold front.

Saturday storms

Temperatures rise back into the 80s on Saturday, but the 4Warn Weather team is tracking a possibility of rain and storms.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are both possible Saturday in the afternoon and evening with the passage of a cold front.

The chances are greater along and north of M-59, but a shower or two can’t be ruled out across Southeast Michigan.

Severe weather isn’t likely.

Temperatures drop after Saturday

Below-average temperatures return to Metro Detroit on Sunday and last through Wednesday.

Highs will be in the mid- to upper 70s to round out the weekend.

Next week’s weather

We get a taste of fall-like temperatures early next week to cap off the month of August.

There’s a slight chance for rain Monday, but the temperatures will be the headline, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s through Wednesday. Overnight lows will fall into the low 50s.
