DETROIT – Patchy fog is possible mainly in northern communities this morning. Fog development has been much patchier compared to yesterday, with most reports north of I-69.

Otherwise, the region is in for an extended stretch of dry conditions with highs well above average this week. Temperatures will be nearly 10 degrees above normal, accompanied by sunshine.

A ridge of high pressure will continue to bring an extended period of dry weather and lighter winds across the area. Highs are expected to be in the low to mid-80s through Friday.

There are no rain chances until late Sunday, and even then, the chance is slim. Temperatures this weekend will be a bit more seasonal, with highs in the 70s.

One week from today marks the autumnal equinox, when the fall season officially begins.
