DETROIT – The biggest and brightest supermoon of the year is expected in Metro Detroit.

Known as both the Beaver Moon and the Harvest Moon, the full moon on Tuesday night, Nov. 4, 2025, will in fact be a supermoon.

And not just any supermoon -- it’s expected to be the biggest and brightest supermoon of the year.

The best time to see the supermoon will be Tuesday evening and Wednesday shortly after sunset, when it rises above the eastern horizon.

This week’s weather forecast

Quiet weather ensues on this election day with a mix of sun and clouds. We will still have a slight breeze, but temperatures will rebound to either side of 60 degrees for afternoon highs.

Wednesday will be warmer and windy. Partly sunny with a spotty rain chance in the afternoon, especially along and north of I-69. Highs will be in the low 60s.

A Clipper System will bring windy weather that will change from the Southwest to the West Northwest in the afternoon near 30 mph.

More seasonal low 50s are on tap Thursday before rain chances increase on Friday.

Snow possible this weekend

There is still a bit of uncertainty regarding precipitation timing and type for this upcoming weekend.

Long-range models are pulling in a chance for snow to mix with rain on Sunday.

We are still several days out to fine-tune this part of the forecast, but plan for a cooler-than-average weekend ahead.
