DETROIT – Cloud cover overnight has kept temperatures a little milder this morning and as clouds thin out through the morning we will end up with plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid-50s this afternoon. Lows tonight drop back into the 30s as clouds build back in ahead of our next weather-maker.
Weekend
The gradual warm-up will continue through Saturday with highs climbing into the 60s. However, a cold front will bring a broken line of rain showers late in the day and a sharp drop in temperatures Saturday night. With the passage of the front, breezy conditions of 30-40 mph gusts are possible both Saturday and Sunday. Highs for the second half of the weekend likely won’t rise above the upper 40s.
Next Week
Near average temperatures are expected through early next week with highs in the mid to upper 40s. An early look at the Tree Lighting forecast downtown looks like we could be slightly above average, but long-range models do pull some moisture across the region so we will keep a close eye on whether or not that will bring us rain chances next Friday.
