What weather should Michigan expect during Thanksgiving week this year?
The NOAA/National Weather Service outlook for Nov. 24-Nov. 30 was updated on Nov. 16, showing temperature and precipitation probabilities compared to normal averages across the country.
Here’s what the outlook says for Michigan during that time frame:
Michigan temp outlook (Nov. 24-30)
The outlook shows a strong chance to above-average temperatures for Michigan, the Great Lakes region, and all of the Eastern half of the U.S., with the Lower Peninsula in the 50-60% chance of seeing warmer-than-average temperatures during Thanksgiving week.
The Detroit area average a high of 47 degrees and a low of 36 degrees in November.
Michigan precip outlook (Nov. 24-30)
The precip outlook shows a 40-50% chance of Michigan seeing above average precipitation during that time frame.
Most of the U.S. falls into the higher probability for above average precipitation for Thanksgiving week.
The Detroit area average about 2.7 inches of rain in November.
