How long will it snow in Metro Detroit today, and how much will we get?

Dusting to half-inch of snow expected Monday morning

DETROIT – Snow has returned to Metro Detroit on Monday morning, but how long will it last, and how much should you expect?

A decent line of snow moved in between 9 and 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2025. While it’s snowing hard enough to affect visibility, this is expected to push out just as quickly as it pushed in.

When it’s all said and done, most areas will only have a dusting to a half-inch of accumulation.

After that, conditions will be dry and cold. Temperatures will ramp up in the middle of the week, even reaching the 40s.

Our next chance of precipitation also comes Thursday, and it will start out as rain because of temperatures in the 40s. But overnight Thursday into Friday, that rain could freeze and then eventually turn into snow.

We’ll continue to fine-tune that forecast as it draws nearer.
