Waking up to a nearly 40-degree drop in temperatures from yesterday. Highs reached the 70s along and south of I-94 on Thursday and this morning’s lows are below the freezing mark.
We remain significantly colder today as most areas hold in the 30s, at best close to 40, but 20s in the Thumb. Feeling even cooler with the wind chill (gusts around 20 mph). Flurries will be possible tonight. Light accumulation in the Thumb can’t be ruled out.
This weekend
Watching a warming trend into the weekend with dry conditions. Still below average on Saturday as high pressure moves in from our west behind the cold front and the clockwise rotation around the high gives us a northerly flow and cooler temperatures will continue to spread south. At least the high will bring an ample amount of sunshine to start the weekend. The upper-level high begins to move back over the South-Central US and allows for warmer temperatures to work their way into our region.
Next Week
A more active pattern ensues next week as we expect 60s and multiple rounds of showers.
