Rain chances on Thursday for Metro Detroit, with more on the way

A cold front brings rain chances today and cooler air tomorrow

Grab your umbrella this morning and ditch the winter coat. A slow-moving cold front brings a broken line of light rain showers this morning. We rise into the upper 60s, close to 70. Partly sunny this afternoon for most of us, but a few showers could linger closer to the state line. Breezy through the day with gusts between 25-30 mph. Steadier rain returns late tonight into early Friday morning.

Tomorrow

Another round of rain showers with more widespread coverage and greater intensity develops early tomorrow morning. Cooler in the wake of the cold front, but near average temperatures return to the 50s the next two days. The tarp will be off the field in time for the Tigers game on Friday night. We dry out through the afternoon. Although the tarp will likely be on the field through the day, the rain should push out before game time.

Weekend

Temperatures continue trending upward. We begin the weekend with highs in the 50s on Saturday before pushing into the 70s by Sunday through early next week. Overall the weekend looks rather dry, which is great news for Michigan fans heading out to Ann Arbor for the celebratory parade on Saturday morning.

Next Week

The warmer 70s last through midweek which will likely come with a more unsettled weather pattern early next week as well. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a 15% risk for severe weather on Tuesday.
