A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Macomb and Oakland counties until 3:30 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service announced.

A severe thunderstorm warning has also been issued for Sanilac County. Read details on that weather alert here.

The Local 4Casters said thunderstorms will pop up around Metro Detroit starting Friday afternoon and could become more numerous as a cold front approaches.

Scattered storms are expected to end by 7 p.m. Friday.
