SANILAC COUNTY, Mich. – A severe thunderstorm warning was issued in Sanilac County until 4:45 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service announced.

A severe thunderstorm warning has also been issued for Macomb and Oakland counties. Read details on that weather alert here.

The Local 4Casters said thunderstorms will pop up around Metro Detroit starting Friday afternoon and could become more numerous as a cold front approaches.

Scattered storms are expected to end by 7 p.m. Friday.
