Weather forecast: Soaking showers headed toward Metro Detroit

Temps in the 50s and 60s

DETROIT – Soaking showers await us on this Monday, but it will be slow developing and that means our morning is dry.

Temps are mainly in the upper 50s to low 60s as you head out under mostly cloudy skies and rain is coming down across Western Michigan early, continuing all day. Rain for Metro Detroit will move in west to east through the afternoon. Expect showers around or just after lunch with the heaviest rain late afternoon and evening which will slow down the evening drive in many spots. Highs stay in the mid to upper 60s today and breezy at times SSE 10-20 mph and a few areas possibly seeing 70 degrees as the rain slowly takes shape.

More showers overnight and then spotty on Tuesday as temps begin to tumble. Morning showers will break as lows in the low 50s keep things cool and still a bit damp early tomorrow. The breezes will be kicking up again tomorrow SW 10-25 mph, and most of the afternoon is dry with a few hit or miss showers.

Wednesday forecast

More cool air is pouring in Wednesday which will produce scattered lake enhanced showers. It’s going to be a cool one with morning lows in the upper 30s to low 40s, and highs only in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees and a steady, lighter wind W 7-17 mph. Thursday and Friday look cool and dry, but weekend showers are possible ahead. Track sky conditions and our next rain chances with our Local4Casters app.
