12 Detroit schools closed because they have no power

DETROIT - The Detroit Public Schools district s dismissing students early from several schools on Tuesday because of power outages.

In a statement, the district said the outages stem from a problem within the city's Public Lighting Department.

The following schools are closed:

Dossin

Edison

Carver

Dixon

Ann Arbor Trail

Breithaupt

Cooke

Emerson

Gardner

Ludington

Mann

Charles Wright
