HAZEL PARK, Mich. – Police in Ferndale and Hazel Park are investigating whether two ATM thefts early Wednesday morning are connected.
Video from the incident in Hazel Park shows two people first trying to pry the ATM at the Cash Connection on Dequindre Road with crowbars. When it won't budge, a van is used to smash through the glass door and loosen the ATM.
A similar crime happened at the Marathon gas station on Hilton Road at 10 Mile Road in Ferndale. The gas station clerk told Local 4 three men in a Jeep used a chain to rip out the ATM.
