DPD chase ends in accident; 1 in custody, 2 fled on foot

2 firearms were recovered from the vehicle after crash

DETROIT – A police chase ended in an accident at the corner of McGraw and Grand River avenues Friday evening, where two firearms were found and one man was arrested, according to police.

Detroit police attempted a traffic stop on a Dodge Magnum that refused to stop on McGraw Avenue.

The Dodge Magnum went to turn on Grand River Avenue when it lost control and hit two other vehicles, one of which was a taxi cab.

Police arrested one man, but the other two men fled on foot.  Authorities are still searching for them.

Detroit police discovered two firearms inside the vehicle.

The cab driver was not hurt, but his 71-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital for minor injuries she sustained.

The other driver was not injured.
