DETROIT -

Detroit Police Homicide Investigators have closed a homicide case that left one male dead and three individuals injured on the city’s west side.

On October 24, 2012, officers responded to a dwelling located in the 5100 block of Webb, where three male victims, ages 27, 26, and 4, and one female victim, 31, were injured due to gunshots being fired. 

According to Homicide Investigators, it is alleged that Zarrell Friday and Mark Belin were walking down the street in the 5100 block of Webb when they fired gunshots, striking the victims as they sat on the front porch.  

The 27-year-old male died.  The 26-year-old male received a graze wound and the other two victims were struck in the body; they were medically treated and released from the local hospital.

After helpful tips, Friday and Belin were identified.

A warrant was obtained for their arrests December 17. Friday was arrested December 24 and Belin was arrested December 25.

Friday and Belin were arraigned on one count of First degree Pre-Mediated Murder; two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder; once count of Weapons Felony Firearm; and one count of Firearms – Possession by Felon.  Defendant Friday was also charged as a Habitual Offender- Third Offense. 

Friday was arraigned on December 25 and  Belin was arraigned on December 26.  Both were remanded to the Wayne County Jail.  

Their next court date has been scheduled for Jan. 3, 2013, at 1:30 p.m.
