The musical follows the iconic Wednesday Addams as she falls in love with a “normal” neighbor boy, who she plans to marry. Her father, Gomez, is caught between a rock and a dark place as he struggles on whether or not to tell his beloved wife, Morticia.

“He’s just trying to please both of the women that he loves in his life, his daughter and his wife… the struggle for him to try to figure out whether to go side with his daughter or side with his wife, keep a secret or tell the truth - either way he’s disappointing someone,” said senior Samuel Aviles, who play the suave patriarch, in a release.

In addition to cast members, 73 crew members and 10 pit orchestra musicians will work behind the scenes to ensure the massive stage setup comes to life.

“This set is gigantic and huge and amazing, and there’s a lot of things that open and little doorways that go more inside their world,” said senior Olivia Callanan.

The PTG performance is the directorial debut for University of Michigan sophomores Gabriel Sanchez and Lleyton Allen, who said that the play had a “unique blend of dark humor, catchy songs, and quirky characters.”

Tickets are on sale now. They cost $15 for students, seniors and Pioneer staff. Adult tickets cost $20, and opening night gala nights cost $50.
