Explosive detection K-9 units systematically swept the convention for bombs but found none. Attendees returned to the hotel around 12:30 p.m.

Motor City Furry Con is a Michigan convention for adults ages 18 and older who participate in an anthropomorphic lifestyle. This year’s convention was held between April 5-7.

A suspect thought to be responsible for the threat was arrested in California by a local police agency, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

Similar threats were made to event organizers during the convention in 2023.
