TROY, Mich. – The Michigan company known for making the Entertainment coupon books has resumed operations after shutting down and filing chapter 7 bankruptcy.
The US Department of Justice appointed a chapter 7 trustee to operate Entertainment pending the sale of the company, which is expected to occur near the end of April.

Entertainment filed for bankruptcy and closed its headquarters in Troy, laying off hundreds of employees on March 12th.
Employees told Local 4 they showed up for work that morning and were told by management that the company was closing.
Workers say they were blindsided by the news. Troy Mayor Dane Slater previously said the company was a community fixture in the city.

The corporate office has been in Metro Detroit for more than 20 years and employed 240 employees in Troy.
A spokesperson for Entertainment says the company is continuing to serve consumers, merchants and vendors during the bankruptcy transition.
The company says Entertainment.com is up and running and 2013 Entertainment books can still be ordered online.
Shipping of the books has resumed and the company says merchant coupon redemption guarantees remains in effect for all books purchased.
The company also says they are honoring all business contracts prior to filing bankruptcy.
