WDIV, the Detroit NBC affiliate is seeking a dynamic, energetic and multi-faceted content producer. This go-getter will understand our changing industry and embrace a multi-platform approach to news. We want a critical thinker who thrives on being inventive and creative. This person will be a strong problem-solver who understands storytelling and teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce content for all platforms including broadcast, web, and social media.
- Create, write, shoot and edit short and long-form content assets that can be leveraged across multiple platforms.
- Optimize linear content to be published on online and social platforms.
- Juggle numerous projects at once in a fast-paced environment with persistent deadlines and changing priorities.
- Assist in training sessions for other content producers.
- Brainstorm with others for topical content that fits within the brand.
- Pitch concepts for original digital features and video series
- Contribute ideas for and help write scripts for various branded content series and sponsorship opportunities.
- This role includes graphics responsibility, including the creation of animations and motion graphics for short form and long form video, and photoshop work for static graphics and video thumbnails
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience producing digital, social, and multiplatform content
- Must be proficient in using the following editing systems: Edius and Adobe Premiere
- Experience with the following systems/cameras a plus: Sony PXW-X400, DSLR, Ronin 4D camera
- Creative self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work across departments and on teams effectively.
- Strong editorial judgment
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
