All donations will benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank, which collects and distributes 45 million pounds of food annually to more than 550 local food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.

With one in five metro Detroiters at risk of hunger, every pound of food collected and every dollar raised will provide relief to people struggling through tough times.

Volunteers from Gleaners will be at each entrance of Joe Louis Arena when the doors open on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to collect donations.

Fans who donate nonperishable food items or make monetary donations will be entered to win an autographed Jimmy Howard puck and 8x10 photo.
