Novi Home Show (Suburban Collection Showplace), Friday to Saturday: It’s that time of year again to start getting ready for winter home improvements. Find everything you need under one roof at the Novi Home Show with hundreds of exhibitors to choose from including builders, remodelers, landscapers, and even lifestyle products like hot tubs. Meet with trusted local businesses and get inspired to start your new home project. The Show is open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Greater Detroit Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show (Macomb Community College Expo), Friday to Sunday: Discover the treasures of the earth at the 77th annual showcase. You’ll find over 32 display cases from world-class museums, ove 60 dealers and lectures from experts across the country. You’ll even have a chance to see Local 4′s very own 4Warn Weather Meteorologist Paul Gross! The expo is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children 5-12. More info here.

Jurassic Quest (Suburban Collection Showplace), Friday to Sunday: Go back to a time where dinosaurs ruled the world with a collection of life-sized animatronics including the almighty T-Rex and a 50-foot Megalodon. Interact with trainers, baby dinos and watch a live raptor show. Admission is $22 and free for children 2 and under. Get tickets here.

Men’s Health Day (Ford Field), Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Stay on top of your health with free screenings for important issues like high blood pressure, prostate cancer, diabetes, several cancers, eye exams and more. Get a fresh start on a new career at the job fair and even get a free haircut. A free lunch will be provided for all attendees. Harvest Day (Ford House), Saturday 12 to 5 p.m.: Get in the autumn spirit with an afternoon of outdoor fun. Blake’s Orchards will be on hand to serve up cider and donuts for sale. Shop the mini fall market to bring home pumpkins, apples, bouquets and more. There will also be a petting zoo, horse and pony rides, and plenty of great photo opportunities. A2 Artoberfest (Downtown Ann Arbor), Saturday & Sunday: Tree Town transforms into a an art town with the annual Artoberfest. From Huron to Kerrytown, you’ll find over 100 juried artists, music, food vendors and art activities. Enjoy live entertainment from Reverie, Reina Mystique and DJ BATZ. Artoberfest is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free and open to all ages. More info here.

Pumpkinfest (MSU Tollgate Farm) Saturday & Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Pick your perfect pumpkin to take home at a fun harvest festival for the whole family. Enjoy wagon rides, farm animals, exhibits and children’s activities in the historic 160-acre farm. There will also be story time, inflatable archery, pumpkin painting and bowling, a children’s straw maze and much more. Tickets are $5 per person and free for 2 and under. More info here.

Hocus Pocus Shadow Cast (Beacon Park), Saturday & Sunday 8 p.m.: Get transported to Salem on All Hallows Eve and meet the Sanderson Sisters in a special presentation of the cult classic. Ibis Theater will bring the film to life with a shadow cast: artists who act out the movie in front of the screen. Get ready to sing along as audience participation is heavily expected. Disney Junior Live on Tour: Costume Palooza (Fox Theatre), Sunday 4 p.m.: The beloved Disney Junior characters are being joined by the characters from Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends for the first time. Join Mickey, Minnie, Doc McStuffins and more live on stage with an immersive, interactive concert experience with singing, dancing, acrobatics and special effects. Tickets start at $20.
